Multiple Pakistani drones were shot down by Indian armed forces on Friday evening in Rajasthan, Srinagar and Jammu amid heightened cross-border tensions. In Rajasthan, drones were detected in Pokhran and Jaisalmer around 8:28 pm and 9:02 pm, respectively. Two more incidents were reported near Barmer at approximately 9:30 pm, with one targeting the Uttarlia airbase area and the other near the Jassi military cantonment in the Phalodi sector. All drones were intercepted before causing damage.
Drone movements were also intercepted in Pathankot, Jammu, and Samba around the same time. These incidents occurred amid ongoing shelling along the Line of Control. According to official sources, these developments follow recent Indian strikes targeting terror hideouts across the border as part of an operation named Sindoor. Forensic teams are currently examining the downed drone debris to determine the origin and payload contents.
In Kashmir, mosque loudspeakers in Srinagar issued precautionary announcements urging residents to switch off lights in response to the escalating situation. Security forces remain on high alert, and aerial surveillance has been intensified across sensitive regions. Authorities have not reported any civilian injuries or infrastructure damage so far.
